God Has A Long Range Plan

God Has A Long Range Plan
As difficult as it may be to understand, some tragedies reflect the long-range plan of God. We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and are according to His purpose (Rom. 8:2Cool. We must remember that He has a redemptive purpose for our pain and suffering.

It is not possible for the finite mind of a man to know the infinite mind of God. The Bible says, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isa. 55:9). The Crucifixion looked like a great tragedy. The blood-soaked body of Jesus, the promised Messiah, hung on a Roman cross- a portrait of shame and defeat. The disciples had scattered in terror. Those who remained near the cross could only look on in abject horror. It was not possible for Mary, thwe mother of Jesus, to understand the full meaning of the cross. God's long-range plan that had begun in the Book of Genesis was completed when Jesus said, "It is finished!"

Many things happen in our lives for which we have no answer. No words of explanation can comfort our hearts. Sometimes god does not make sense to us. In those times, we must trust the will of a sovereign God and know that He is too loving to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake. Someday we may understand. In the meantime, we must continue to trust and to believe that although the pain we feel is real, it is temporary. -Pastor John Hagee
